Role Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Field Safety Officer to oversee safety measures on-site, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and promoting a secure working environment. This role necessitates frequent travel to various job locations and demands exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.

Key Duties:
  • Safety Regulation Adherence: Guarantee compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures on-site, including OSHA standards and company-specific protocols.
  • Site Evaluations: Perform regular safety assessments and audits of job sites, identifying potential risks and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Incident Analysis: Investigate and document any accidents, incidents, or near misses, collaborating with management to implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Training Sessions: Facilitate safety training programs for employees, including orientation for new hires, toolbox discussions, and refresher courses.
  • Safety Record Maintenance: Keep accurate and current safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training records.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Develop and execute emergency response strategies, ensuring all site personnel are familiar with the procedures.
  • Risk Evaluation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and formulate strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Safety Equipment Oversight: Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available for use.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other stakeholders to cultivate a safety-focused culture.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and industry standards, revising company policies as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 0 years if educational requirements are met; 5 years if not.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR Certified, or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure environments.
    • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry safety equipment.
Additional Information:
  • Travel Requirements: Locally 80%, Overnight 20%
  • Work Environment: Exposure to the oil and gas, chemical, heavy industrial, and renewable fuels sectors. Work locations may involve varying exposure conditions.
