Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). As a key member of our HR department, you will provide exceptional customer service to employees, applicants, and guests, while maintaining the Agency's electronic document management system and administering MTS's electronic keycard system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as receptionist for the Human Resources, Payroll, and Risk Departments
  • Answer inquiries regarding hiring procedures, open positions, payroll forms, and MTS policies and procedures
  • Assist with data entry in the Agency's HRIS and online benefits systems
  • Support applicants with online application submittals and troubleshoot MTS Career Center and ADP Recruitment Management (RM) applicant issues
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including posting positions, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, and scheduling background checks
  • Maintain scanned employee files in the Agency's document management system and determine eligibility for ID Cards
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and administrative tasks
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in Human Resources. You will also have experience with ADP HRIS systems and possess a valid California driver's license. Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality, are essential for this position.
