Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify all mechanical functionalities, including mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing frameworks, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors, switches, motor controls, and safety circuits.
  • Utilize appropriate tools for component replacement, machinery adjustments, and calibrations to swiftly restore equipment to operational status.
  • Engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and assist in the deployment of TPM objectives.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all machinery, ensuring timely completion and documentation of work performed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical prints.
  • Assess equipment for necessary repairs, enhancements, or upgrades, executing work as required.
  • Perform plumbing and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Execute welding and painting assignments.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly safeguarded.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety policies.
  • Participate in and uphold 5S activities.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and spare parts.
  • Collaborate with departments on Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).
  • Assist with hazardous waste management.
  • Facilitate furniture and equipment relocations as necessary.
  • Possess a solid understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment to measure current, voltage, and resistance, including Hipot and Megger meters.
  • Repair pneumatic drills, screw guns, routers, and saw motors.
  • Fabricate and install fixtures, guards, and machine components, including design, layout, sheet metal work, welding, machine shop tasks, carpentry, and painting.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering to implement design modifications for equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Work alongside the IT Department on the integration of production equipment.
  • Assist engineering with new plant layouts, equipment relocations, and additions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors as needed for production and related areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a related field and 2 years troubleshooting PLCs.
  • Proficient in PC usage for troubleshooting and machine operations via touchscreen controls and software.
  • Advanced maintenance skills in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, welding, machine piping, HVAC, and dust collection.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Capable of reading and understanding mechanical, fluid power, building, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting machine controls, including frequency drives and servo drives.
  • Broad knowledge of PLCs and electrical principles, with experience in Allen Bradley PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with 480, 208 3-phase, 120 single phase, and 24v low voltage electrical circuitry.
  • Effective use of testing equipment for electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as shop equipment.
  • Understanding of safety practices, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, reasoning, and analytical problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate lift equipment.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
  • Understanding of relevant safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Work Pace: Task Defined - The pace of work will vary based on the materials being processed.
  • Overtime: Occasionally, overtime may be required.
