Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including drive units, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, and electrical circuits.
  • Utilize appropriate tools for component replacement, machinery adjustment, and calibration to ensure efficient equipment operation.
  • Engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and assist in achieving TPM goals.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams proficiently.
  • Assess equipment for necessary repairs and enhancements, including plumbing and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Perform welding and painting as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly safeguarded and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety policies.
  • Participate in 5S activities to promote workplace organization.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and spare parts effectively.
  • Collaborate on Continuous Improvement (CIP) projects with various departments.
  • Assist in hazardous waste management as needed.
  • Facilitate furniture and equipment relocations when necessary.
  • Possess a solid understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment to measure current, voltage, and resistance, including Hipot and Megger meters.
  • Repair pneumatic tools and motors, including drills and routers.
  • Engage in fabrication and installation of fixtures and machine components, involving design, layout, and various shop tasks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design modifications for equipment and fixtures.
  • Work alongside the IT department on production equipment integration.
  • Assist in planning new plant layouts and equipment relocations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in a related field, including 2 years of PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficient in PC operations for troubleshooting and machine control software.
  • Advanced skills in maintenance, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, welding, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Capable of reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Experienced in PLC programming and troubleshooting, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.
  • Knowledgeable in 480, 208 3-phase, 120 single phase, and 24v low voltage electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using testing equipment for electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Familiar with hand and power tools and safety practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate lift equipment and manage time effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties independently and in a team setting.
  • Understanding of safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Work pace is defined by tasks, varying based on production needs.
  • Overtime may be required occasionally.
