Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized environment in assigned work areas, adhering to established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various housekeeping duties, including cleaning and disinfecting rooms, floors, fixtures, and furnishings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure assigned areas are cleaned and disinfected according to departmental procedures, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, washing walls, ceilings, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Empty trash, restock supplies, wash and make beds, and maintain housekeeping carts.
  • Set up furniture in conference rooms and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning needs and housekeeping requirements in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with clinical personnel to determine priority of cleaning needs in clinical areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of formal housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions
  • Lifting: Frequent 10 lbs.-25 lbs., Seldom 26 lbs.-50 lbs.
  • Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional squatting/kneeling.
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
