Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical issues, including drive units, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing configurations, and circuit controls.
  • Utilize hand tools and machine shop equipment effectively to perform multi-trade repairs on production machinery and related equipment.
  • Assess machinery for necessary repairs, improvements, or upgrades, and execute tasks as required.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement and manage inventory of essential replacement components.
  • Oversee machine setup, including rigging, alignment, and ensuring all safety and operational standards are met.
  • Fabricate and install necessary fixtures and components, utilizing skills in design, metalwork, and woodworking.
  • Collaborate with management to prioritize and complete maintenance requests efficiently.
  • Repair and maintain various power tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient in troubleshooting PLC and electromechanical systems within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities related to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Capable of prioritizing repairs effectively under production pressure.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experienced in using testing equipment for mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Familiarity with plumbing, HVAC systems, and dust collection methods.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Minimum of a 2-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of panel and machine building practices.
