Job Title: High School Environmental Science Teacher

Uncommon Schools North Star Academy is seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Environmental Science Teacher to join our team. As a member of our Science department, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to our mission of providing an outstanding K-12 education in historically under-resourced communities.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced teacher who can design and implement engaging and challenging Environmental Science curricula for our high school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields and a passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Environmental Science curriculum that meets the needs of our students and aligns with state and national standards.
  • Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific literacy.
  • Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure students meet their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote STEM education and community engagement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of success in teaching Environmental Science or a related subject.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
