Job Overview

Uncommon Schools NYC is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our team. As a Science Teacher, you will play a critical role in preparing students for success in college and beyond by providing a rigorous and engaging science education.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
  • Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote student-centered learning and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote science education and student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in science education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid New York State teaching certification in Science.
  • Experience teaching science in a high school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
