Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Culinary Operations to lead our Food Services Department at Scenic Hills at the Monastery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food services, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and direct the Food Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents, while also considering their preferences and cultural backgrounds.
  • Manage food inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have adequate stock levels to meet demand.
  • Supervise and train staff, including cooks, servers, and other support personnel, to ensure that they are equipped to provide excellent service to our residents.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Clinical and Environmental Services, to ensure that our food services align with the overall goals and objectives of the community.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses, to ensure that we are operating within budget.
  • Implement procedures for the safe operation of all food services equipment, and ensure that staff are trained on proper food handling and preparation techniques.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for food services, including menu planning, food preparation, and service.
  • Ensure that all food services staff are properly certified and trained, and that we are in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in food services management, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Service Manager (CFSM) certification required.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and other stakeholders.
