Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to Public Health Regulations and Sanitation Code.
  • Develop and implement menus, ensuring compliance with therapeutic diets and written doctor's orders.
  • Manage food preparation, presentation, and service, maintaining high standards of quality and palatability.
  • Monitor and control food costs, ensuring they remain within budgeted parameters.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Dining Services to enhance recipes, menus, and food service operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, attending workshops, seminars, and in-services to maintain professional status.
  • Assist in scheduling department working hours, personnel, and work assignments to maintain quality resident care.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the dietary area and practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Purchase food, supplies, and equipment as needed to meet departmental requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive inventory control procedures.
  • Assist the Director as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Service experience in Long-Term Care settings preferred.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
  • Experience with State, County, and Federal codes preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
