Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and self-driven state and local Credits & Incentives (C&I) tax expert to join our expanding Local Tax practice.

As a Senior Manager in the Credits & Incentives (C&I) team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging your expertise in state tax credits, incentives, and site analysis to develop a service delivery team and enhance C&I services for our clients.
  • Driving growth and profitability within the C&I and SALT practice by generating new revenue from existing clients, cross-selling services, and attracting new clients.
  • Collaborating with a national practice to share knowledge based on your areas of expertise while utilizing C&I resources across the firm.
  • Integrating with clients and the overall tax team to review state tax returns, identifying C&I opportunities and delivering services.
  • Managing complex engagements with a focus on providing high-quality tax advice and expanding service offerings to clients.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of SALT associates, seniors, and supervisors, providing timely performance feedback.
  • Staying informed on current tax practices and changes in tax legislation.
  • Representing the firm at external and internal events to enhance both the firm's and your personal brand as experts in credits and incentives.
  • Some travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • CPA, JD, LLM, EA, CCIP, or CEcD certification.
  • At least six years of experience in income and franchise tax consulting within a Public Accounting, Consulting, or Law firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to travel up to 25%.
