Jacobs is on the lookout for a Senior Security Authorization Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be integral to the Authorization and Assessment process within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both new and existing information systems. Your expertise will ensure that all assigned systems maintain compliance with the Authority to Operate.

The work environment is energetic and often involves managing tight deadlines. This role necessitates a high level of collaboration and synergy with team members, as well as with various stakeholders across the organization and clients. Our program provides readily accessible process information and support from colleagues in similar roles.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the identification of comprehensive security requirements to safeguard data and oversee the effective implementation of necessary information security measures.

· Assist in the planning, evaluation, risk analysis, and management processes related to security, as well as security control assessments and awareness initiatives for systems and network operations.

· Collaborate with clients to ensure that Information Assurance (IA) functions, particularly those focusing on infrastructure security and defensive IT strategies, are integrated into the development and risk management processes.

· Engage with clients, IT personnel, and senior corporate leaders to define and achieve essential IA objectives for the organization.

· Contribute to the development of security architecture in line with client standards and facilitate the integration of legacy systems and existing IT environments for effective risk management.

· Participate in the acquisition and Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) environments, embedding IA into systems deployed in operational settings.

· Conduct thorough Risk Assessments, evaluate operational risks, and provide informed risk recommendations to clients after assessing a system's overall risk posture as part of the Security Authorization process.

· Draft and review security authorization documentation and prepare action plans based on the findings and recommendations from security assessment reports, collaborating with various security stakeholders post-authorization.

· Offer ongoing, ad hoc authorization-related support to both clients and programs.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in security authorization.

· A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or a related discipline may substitute for 4 years of experience.

· DoD compliant IAM Level III certification, such as GSLC, CISM, or CISSP (or associate) certification.

· Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.

· Familiarity with security authorization processes and procedures as outlined in the RMF, including NIST SP800-37, ICD503, CNSSI1253, SP800-53, etc.

· Knowledge and experience in security domains such as risk management, intrusion detection, contingency planning, incident response, configuration management, auditing, and various security disciplines.

· In-depth professional knowledge of information systems security policies, practices, and cutting-edge security tools, alongside a comprehensive understanding of IT.

· Proven experience in implementing the Risk Management Framework with ICD 503 and CNSSI 1253 Security Controls.

· Experience in conducting Risk Assessments and formulating realistic and comprehensive recommendations and mitigation strategies.

· Understanding of system security design processes, defense-in-depth strategies, engineering life cycles, and the principles of Information Assurance.

· Consistent attendance is essential. Must be able to work a standard 40-hour week, typically Monday through Friday, with potential variations based on business needs. Availability for overtime during peak periods is required.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

· Professional demeanor that fosters productivity and encourages teamwork and collaboration.

· Ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.

· Highly organized with the capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Ability to perform well under pressure to meet deadlines.

· Must successfully pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience in roles such as Information Systems Security Engineer, Information Systems Security Officer, Information Systems Security Manager, or Delegated Authorizing Official.

· Experience in briefing senior client personnel.

· Familiarity with the XACTA IA Manager is advantageous.

· Highly analytical with strong troubleshooting and prioritization skills.

· Commitment to continuous learning and system development in response to evolving cyber threats.

· Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, data formats, and software.

· Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a responsible team player with exceptional relationship management skills.
