We currently have an opening for a Review Appraiser within our Credit Department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Customers Bank receives credible, regulatory-compliant third-party reports concerning real estate used as collateral.

We seek a knowledgeable and motivated professional who excels in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate submitted Real Estate Appraisal Reports for compliance with USPAP standards, adherence to bank engagement letters, and alignment with bank policies and Interagency Guidelines.
  • Facilitate resolution of issues between Loan Production Teams and valuation vendors to uphold independence and impartiality in the collateral assessment process.
  • Support Credit Officers and Analysts with insights regarding the presentation and conclusions in submitted third-party reports.
  • Assist the Team Manager and Coordinator in ensuring timely ordering and delivery of appropriate reports with suitable content.
  • Collaborate with the Loan Documentation team post-review to ensure all necessary appraisal documents are available for loan closing.
  • Contribute to maintaining an approved vendor list to ensure the selection of top firms for third-party reports, ensuring all vendor certifications and insurance declarations are current.
  • Review environmental due diligence reports to assess and advise Loan Production Teams on potential short- and long-term risks.
  • Generate and maintain in-house logging forms, reports, and studies.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license with experience in valuing diverse property types and rights.
  • Strong knowledge of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Federal Interagency Appraisal Guidelines (FIRREA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex valuation presentations, including discounted cash flows.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new software and programs.
  • Willingness to embrace new tasks and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Proactive individual with exceptional time management skills, capable of working independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods to enhance productivity.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution is advantageous.
