Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Nutrition Faculty member to join our team. As a key member of our Department of Clinical Nutrition, School of Health Professions, you will be responsible for teaching, clinical expertise, and research background to support our institution's mission in education and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver courses in clinical nutrition, dietetics, and related subjects, fostering an engaging learning environment through lectures, seminars, and practical sessions as needed.
  • Research and Scholarship: Stay updated with advancements in clinical nutrition research and incorporate them into teaching, conduct research in clinical nutrition, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentorship and Student Engagement: Mentor students in research projects and foster a culture of scholarly inquiry, engaging in professional development activities to stay current in the field.
  • Departmental and Institutional Service: Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and academic governance, collaborating with administrative staff to enhance departmental operations and serving on professional committees and contributing to community outreach initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Licensed Dietitian with a master's degree is required, and a doctoral degree (Ph.D., DCN., or equivalent) in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Significant clinical experience in nutrition practice, preferably in a healthcare setting, and teaching experience at the university level is desirable.
  • Certification: Board certification in Clinical Nutrition (e.g., CNSC, CSO) is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency in instructional technology and curriculum design.
