The Apple Cloud Engineering team is dedicated to developing and integrating technologies that enhance everyday life.

We are seeking a Power and Performance Systems Engineer with a strong track record in creating impactful technology solutions.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate across various teams including architecture, platform design, SOC architects, and software developers to produce exceptional power and performance optimized products that exceed customer expectations.

In this position, you will oversee the power and performance aspects of one or more products.

This role demands a deep technical understanding to engage with multiple layers of the technology stack, from SOC to platform and software, while effectively communicating with external stakeholders.

You will partner with architecture teams to define product specifications and establish power and performance benchmarks, develop automation and infrastructure tools to evaluate product power and performance, and troubleshoot new hardware for power and performance issues from software to hardware state transitions.

Strong analytical skills and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Key Qualifications:
6+ years of experience as a Power and Performance Engineer
Solid understanding of hardware components and hardware/software interactions
Extensive experience in power management and balancing power and performance trade-offs
Proven knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and procedures for iOS and macOS
Strong grasp of power delivery systems
Demonstrated ability to manage a complete functional area of an application or product
Capable of working independently and demonstrating commitment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in troubleshooting/debugging/reproducing issues
Experience in scripting and programming with C/C++, Python, R, and Shell
Education & Experience:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in automating testing for phones/Macs
  • Proven innovative and creative thinking capabilities; familiarity with patent processes
  • Experience in C/C++/ObjC/Swift coding and Python is advantageous

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth and advancement as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with your specific base pay influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Eligible employees can receive discretionary restricted stock unit awards and may purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
