About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Power and Performance Engineer to join our Apple Cloud Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing power and performance optimized products that meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cross-functionally with architecture, platform design, SOC architects, and software teams to deliver outstanding power and performance optimized products.
  • Develop automation and infrastructure tools to assess power and performance of products.
  • Bring up new hardware and debug for power and performance from software down to the state transition of each hardware block.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to define product power and performance targets.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience as a Power and Performance Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of hardware components and hardware/software interactions.
  • Strong experience in power management and power and performance tradeoffs.
  • Proven understanding of network technologies, protocols, and procedures for iOS and macOS.
  • Solid understanding of power delivery.
  • Proven track record to own a complete functional area of an application or product.
  • Able to work independently and should be dedicated.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting/debugging/reproducing issues.
  • Scripting and programming skills in C/C++, Python, R, Shell.
Education & Experience

M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Experience in automating phone/Mac testing.
  • Demonstrated innovative and creative thinking capabilities; be patent savvy.
  • C/C++/ObjC/Swift coding/Python experience a plus.
