Position Overview:

Talent Software Services is seeking a qualified Human Research Ethics Coordinator for a contract role.

This position is essential for ensuring compliance and excellence in human research while safeguarding the rights and welfare of research participants.

Key Responsibilities:

The Human Research Ethics Coordinator will manage a diverse caseload of applications submitted for ethical review, demonstrating strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

As a vital resource for the research community, this role requires in-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations governing human subject research, along with institutional policies and procedures. The Coordinator will interpret and apply these regulations to research proposals and ongoing studies, conducting thorough analyses of all submissions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the completeness and accuracy of applications.
  • Managing a high volume of submissions while meeting deadlines and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Conducting critical reviews and providing feedback to researchers.
  • Serving as a voting member of the convened ethics board and conducting expedited reviews of minimal risk research.
  • Documenting findings and communicating outcomes to investigators.
  • Collaborating with IRB Chairs to manage meeting logistics and documentation.
  • Guiding administrative staff to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participating in the training and orientation of new IRB members.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Single IRB (sIRB) reviews for multi-center research or direct involvement in IRB operations and related practices.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in natural or social sciences, nursing, management, or a related health field is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in human subjects research. Alternatively, candidates with an Associate's degree and 6 years of relevant experience will be considered.

  • Strong decision-making abilities and analytical skills to navigate complex research protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
