Job Title: Planning Engineer

As a Planning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of the electric power grid, working closely with our talented and dedicated workforce to develop world-class solutions for today's and tomorrow's energy challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering analysis and technical support to ensure the continued reliable operation of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols, and Market Guides.
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system, including system modeling, tool development, and procedure implementation.
  • Conduct system studies, analyze simulated or actual operating results, and develop solutions to current or future system issues.
  • Report findings and recommendations to senior-level engineers or management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a power system engineer or similar role, with a preference for experience within the electric utility industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in power system simulation tools, such as Powerworld, and programming languages, such as Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE Professional Engineer certification.
  • Experience with UPLAN and NERC reliability standards.
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills.
Work Location:

Taylor, TX. Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on business needs as determined by management. Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
