POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Systems Engineer to join our Power Delivery Distribution Department in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality reviews of project deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Design and operate overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) to ensure efficient and reliable power delivery.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • At least three years of experience in distribution engineering, with a focus on overhead and underground distribution lines.
  • Strong understanding of utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in distribution design software, including overhead and underground systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of Texas.
  • Experience with utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and distribution design software.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to direct and manage a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
