Opportunity Overview


WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Geological Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in providing expert technical support and direction for the assessment, identification, compilation, and interpretation of geological data across various mediums including soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air/vapor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage subsurface investigation initiatives, due diligence assessments, and various environmental studies.

• Ensure that documentation and recommendations accurately reflect the outcomes of geological evaluations and address potential risks.

• Collaborate with project leadership on environmental site assessments, corrective measures, contaminant identification, and remediation strategies.

• Direct and oversee technical tasks including the collection and analysis of environmental data from soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other relevant matrices.

• Conduct comprehensive environmental site assessments and lead site investigations, including drilling and excavation oversight.

• Prepare detailed work plans, technical reports, proposals, and presentations that convey complex information clearly.

• Analyze and interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data to inform project decisions.

• Develop and implement site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Engage confidently and professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients.

• Formulate action plans for mid to large-scale environmental control projects and programs.

• Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development.

• Manage project tasks, including budgets and timelines, to ensure successful project delivery.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field.

• 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in geological consulting.

• Proficient in geological research methodologies, investigation technologies, and analytical tools.

• In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance practices.

• Experience in managing small to mid-sized projects, including tracking project hours and expenses.

• Familiarity with conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments according to industry standards.

• Skilled in various drilling techniques and groundwater monitoring practices.

• Strong technical writing abilities and effective communication skills, capable of conveying information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Geologist (PG) certification in California is preferred.

• Master's Degree in a relevant field is advantageous.

• Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) is preferred.
