Opportunity Summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Geological Consultant to join our team. This role involves providing expert technical support and leadership in the assessment, collection, and analysis of geological data across various environmental media, including soil, groundwater, and air. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing subsurface investigations, environmental assessments, and due diligence projects. They will ensure that all documentation and recommendations reflect the findings of geological analyses and effectively address potential risks.

Your Contributions
  • Oversee and direct technical projects, including the collection and analysis of environmental data from diverse sources.
  • Conduct thorough environmental site assessments.
  • Lead site investigations, including drilling and excavation oversight, as well as monitoring groundwater installations.
  • Manage a team and perform geological and hydrogeological data interpretation.
  • Develop detailed work plans, technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Analyze and interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data.
  • Prepare and enforce site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
  • Create action plans for mid to large-scale environmental control projects.
  • Supervise cross-functional teams to ensure project execution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver innovative solutions for clients.
  • Manage project tasks, including budget and schedule oversight.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Willingness to travel for project-related activities as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in geological consulting.
  • Expertise in geological research, investigation techniques, and relevant software.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing small to mid-sized projects, including tracking budgets and timelines.
  • Proficient in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Knowledge of vapor intrusion evaluation and soil gas sampling techniques.
  • Familiarity with various drilling methods and groundwater monitoring installations.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and direct field teams effectively.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as project demands require.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary based on project needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Geologist (PG) certification in California is preferred.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Relevant professional certifications.
  • Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) is preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR training is desirable.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $99,700 - $150,000, reflecting the company's commitment to equitable compensation based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. WSP reserves the right to adjust the compensation based on various factors.
