Position Overview:

The Customer Relationship Banker plays a vital role in representing Middlesex Savings Bank to both the public and colleagues, embodying the Bank's core values and mission. This position is centered around enhancing the customer experience, achieving operational excellence, and contributing to the overall success of the Bank and its team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Cultivates a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations, offering tailored products and services. Actively develops new business opportunities by fostering and expanding customer relationships, leveraging business partners as necessary. Proficient in executing all teller transactions, opening personal and basic business accounts, and handling domestic wire transfers.
  • Operational Integrity: Ensures the accuracy and quality of all work performed. Possesses a solid foundational knowledge of the Bank's digital offerings and other services, staying updated on alerts and company communications.
  • Compliance and Security: Adheres to all compliance, security, and risk management protocols. Maintains a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and follows all Bank policies regarding confidentiality and other operational standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participates as a member of the branch team, contributing to team objectives and supporting branch supervisors in executing Bank policies and initiatives, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrates reliability in completing tasks and managing time effectively. Communicates ideas clearly and professionally through written, verbal, and electronic means, aligning with the strategic goals of the branch and the Bank.
  • Decision-Making: Understands and adheres to Bank policies and procedures, recognizing potential risks and notifying supervisors as necessary. Makes consistent and dependable decisions that reflect the Bank's values and standards, while being vigilant for signs of fraud.
  • Additional Duties: Performs various functions within the scope of authority to deliver exceptional service to customers and colleagues. Takes on other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some college education is preferred.

Experience:

  • 6-12 months of experience in a teller or similar customer service role within the banking sector; or a recent graduate of the Banker Trainee Program is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic mathematical principles and capable of performing fundamental calculations.
  • Exhibits strong customer service, sales, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possesses intermediate technology skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including weekends, is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and work location is necessary.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must obtain Notary Public designation within six months of employment.
