Position Overview:
LaBella Associates is seeking a seasoned Protection and Control Engineer with a robust background in the detailed design of protection and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation and preparation of bid documents for various power systems, including commercial, industrial, generation, renewables, and utility sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and modify one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring layouts, relay panel configurations, and cable lists for substations.
• Design auxiliary AC and DC power systems.
• Create and revise technical specifications for critical equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, control houses, and other high-voltage substation materials.
• Collaborate with SCADA engineers, substation physical engineers, and control design teams to ensure comprehensive integration of protection, control, and monitoring systems.
• Conduct fundamental calculations, including voltage drop, CT burden and saturation, lighting, and short circuit analysis with minimal oversight.
• Apply field mark-ups to project as-built drawings independently.
• Assist project managers in defining project scope and conceptual designs.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding project activities.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
• Uphold personal accountability for the quality and precision of work produced.
• Develop panel construction specifications, including wiring and layout designs.

Technical Expertise:
• Evaluate and review control features and communication protocols of protective relays, RTUs, LTC Controllers, and related equipment, ensuring relay setting coordination.

Testing and Commissioning:
• Support testing and commissioning efforts related to system startups and functional checks as required.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• At least 5 years of experience in the design of protection and control systems, cost estimation, and bid document preparation for medium voltage electrical projects.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license from a US State is preferred.
• Proven success in designing Protection and Control Systems.

Knowledge Requirements:
• Familiarity with IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards relevant to substation design is essential.
• Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and automation (SCADA) is mandatory.
• Desired knowledge in low voltage coordination and arc flash studies.
• Familiarity with equipment from Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, General Electric, and Basler is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel periodically to project sites.

Software Proficiency:
• Knowledge of ASPEN or similar software.
• Proficiency in Doble, AutoCAD, SKM, and ETAP is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
