KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional client-facing services to multinational corporations based in the United States dealing with global indirect tax matters, including conducting transaction assessments, supply chain evaluations, assisting with business growth initiatives, providing advice on mergers and acquisitions, and overseeing less complex global projects.

Formulate responses to client proposal inquiries regarding global indirect taxes.

Design and present Value Added Tax (VAT) training sessions tailored for both external and internal audiences.

Identify, document, and propose client business requirements for the implementation of VAT/sales and use tax compliance processes and system enhancements.

Expand and nurture both new and existing client and internal relationships.

Guide and mentor junior staff members.

Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of recent experience in global indirect advisory projects, including involvement in less complex global initiatives.

A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution; relevant certifications such as CPA, EA, JD/LLM, MTX (Masters in Taxation), IIT VAT Compliance Diploma, CA, CTA, AITI, or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI) are required. Candidates without at least one of the approved designations upon hiring must obtain one within one year of their start date.

Strong technical knowledge of global indirect tax issues, along with an understanding of key indirect tax processes and data drivers.

Experience in advising on and/or implementing systems projects, whether ERP or tax engines, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, or process mapping software.

Self-motivated with the ability to generate and organize work efforts, manage project timelines/priorities, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms, with a willingness to travel up to thirty percent of the time.

Capability to develop and sustain existing internal and client relationships while assisting in building new connections with key local office targets.
