Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Director to lead our medium-sized machine vision and scope divisions in the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive growth and lead the organization's operational and financial functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Optimize current business operations by reviewing current processes and enhancing commercial, marketing, and product management functions;
  • Strategic Planning: Develop a 3-5 year strategic plan and translate it into executable operational plans, leading the divisions and building an organization that supports these plans through talent development;
  • Resource Allocation: Reallocate and optimize resources as necessary in consultation with the CEO to implement the management plans;
  • Financial Management: Review the financial results of all operations, compare them with the company's objectives, and take appropriate measures to improve performance and results;
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Support and manage negotiations with other companies regarding actions such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, or collaborations.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in business development, sales or marketing and problem-solving at a corporate level, including experience under the direct supervision of C-suite members, preferably within Japanese companies;
  • Industry Expertise: 5+ years experience in the machine vision industry or in industrial automation;
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably in Engineering, Business (MBA), Economics, or other related highly analytical disciplines;
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, talent management and organizational skills with the ability to influence, inspire, and lead change;
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English; basic Japanese language skills or a strong interest in Japanese culture is mandatory;
  • M&A Experience: Experience with the M&A process, including establishing deal rationale, negotiations with targets, due diligence, and post-merger integration (preferred but not mandatory).
