Position: Food and Beverage Server

Overview

The Hilton Atlanta Northeast is seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Server who is flexible and ready to assist in both the dining and banquet services as required by operational demands. The ideal candidate should possess some bartending skills and be prepared to support the restaurant bar as well as serve as a banquet bartender when necessary.

Role Responsibilities

The Food and Beverage Server will be responsible for taking food and drink orders, delivering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and serving meals to guests in accordance with hotel standards, ensuring a courteous and efficient service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with customers to confirm their satisfaction with meals and addressing any concerns.
  • Processing payments from patrons.
  • Recording food orders accurately and relaying them to kitchen staff.
  • Preparing itemized checks that reflect meal costs and applicable taxes.
  • Taking food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Verifying patrons' ages to comply with legal drinking age regulations.
  • Serving food and drinks to guests, including specialty dishes when necessary.
  • Presenting menus and providing detailed information about menu items, including recommendations.
  • Cleaning tables post-meal and preparing the dining area for subsequent guests.
  • Crafting a variety of beverages, including cocktails and chilled wines.
  • Setting up dining areas and food stations for events and large parties.
  • Informing guests about daily specials and menu highlights.
  • Restocking service areas with necessary supplies such as coffee, food items, and tableware.
  • Explaining preparation methods and ingredients of menu items.
  • Preparing dining tables with linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Clearing dishes and glassware from tables for cleaning.
  • Assisting hosts with reservations and greeting guests.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, including floors and server stations.
  • Presenting wine selections to guests and pouring as requested.
  • Performing food preparation tasks, including salads and appetizers.
  • Escorting guests to their tables.
  • Garnishing dishes for presentation.
  • Refilling condiment containers and ensuring table settings are complete.
  • Providing guests with information about local attractions and directions.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a solid understanding of the English language and prior experience in customer service. Certification in liquor, wine, and food service is preferred. Candidates must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified by their first day of employment. Proficiency in using property management systems and point of sale systems is also required.
