Your Impact:

As a Youth Care Worker, you will serve as a vital advocate, mentor, and coach for the youth residing in our residential program. Your role is crucial in positively influencing their life paths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vigilance and awareness of the living environment.
  • Position yourself to ensure constant visibility of youth sleeping areas.
  • Conduct regular checks on youth every 30 minutes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Document all observations and interactions accurately in the program logbook.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly regarding incidents, family contacts, and other essential information.
  • Engage with youth in their daily activities and routines.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with youth and their families.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of individual Treatment Plans for each youth.
  • Work alongside educational and career support staff to assist youth in their development.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Innovate and support creative interventions tailored to youth needs.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings and advocate collaborations.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate transportation for youth and their families when required.
  • Adhere to the agency's treatment philosophies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to remain alert during overnight hours.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with youth.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.
  • Ability to participate in required training sessions.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds and, with training, manage youth safely.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the organization.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with overnight shifts from 10 PM to 8 AM, Monday through Thursday.
