Your Impact:

As a Youth Care Worker, you will serve as a vital advocate, mentor, and guide for the young residents in our care. Your role is essential in shaping their futures and providing them with the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vigilance and awareness of the living environment.
  • Position yourself to ensure visibility of youth sleeping areas at all times.
  • Conduct regular checks on sleeping quarters every 30 minutes, with increased frequency as needed.
  • Document all observations and interactions accurately in the program logbook.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly regarding incidents, family contacts, and other relevant information.
  • Engage with youth during daily activities and routines.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with youth and their families.
  • Collaborate on and implement individualized treatment plans for each youth.
  • Work alongside educational and career support staff to enhance youth development.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to youth in various settings.
  • Develop innovative interventions tailored to individual youth needs.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings.
  • Collaborate with assigned advocates and maintain consistent family communication.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and behavior management strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate transportation for youth and their families when required.
  • Adhere to the agency's treatment philosophies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to remain alert during overnight hours.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with youth.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated maturity and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and restraining youth when necessary.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, specifically overnight shifts.
