Job Summary

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Construction Cost Engineer to become a member of our team. In this role, you will be tasked with executing unit cost and quantity takeoffs, in addition to overseeing cost accounting, procurement, expediting, and document management. The ideal candidate will possess three to five years of experience in construction or a comparable management or accounting role.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct precise unit cost and quantity takeoffs to estimate project expenses.
  • Establish and maintain a cost accounting system to monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Manage procurement processes, including sourcing materials and negotiating with suppliers for optimal pricing and terms.
  • Supervise the expediting process to guarantee timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.
  • Implement document control procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient retrieval of project-related data.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide cost analysis and recommendations.
  • Track project costs throughout the construction phase and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency enhancements.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on project cost performance to management.
Education & Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in construction or a similar management or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of unit cost and quantity takeoff methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement management and expediting processes.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
