We are currently in search of a proficient and driven Mechanical Estimator to become part of our team. Our unique approach includes an in-house project costing program, project scheduling, and project management, emphasizing our commitment to client needs and delivering optimal solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with our sales, service, and project management teams.
  • Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to create precise cost estimates for piping systems.
  • Interpret engineered drawings, isometrics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Employ estimating software and tools to quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for piping installations.
  • Work alongside project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather essential information and ensure estimate precision.
  • Conduct material take-offs and sourcing to identify cost-effective solutions while adhering to project specifications.
  • Calculate labor hours, equipment rental, and subcontractor expenses to formulate comprehensive project bids.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and bid packages promptly, ensuring compliance with project timelines.
  • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to enhance project budgets and maximize profitability.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and market changes to provide competitive estimates.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and clients.
  • Document and preserve records of estimates, assumptions, and project communications.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with active projects and assess necessary change orders as requested by the service group, project management, or clients.

Qualifications:

  • Robust mechanical background with expertise in piping systems and installations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineered drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, showcasing strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of field installation practices and construction methods is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities to identify potential project challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Prior experience in piping estimation or a related field is highly desirable.
