Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Preconstruction Estimator to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and compile bid proposals, ensuring accurate estimates through detailed takeoffs and vendor pricing solicitations. Review project specifications and drawings using the Company Bid Information System (BIS).
  • Engage in bidding and pre-construction activities, attending meetings to clarify the scope of work and necessary estimate components.
  • Conduct research, negotiate, and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management during pre-job meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction estimating across various commercial building sectors.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, particularly in construction management, engineering, or a related field, though equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with subcontractors and vendors, work collaboratively in teams, and effectively communicate with operations and business development staff.
  • Proficient in estimating and takeoff software, including WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft applications.
