Position Overview
As a Senior Claims Specialist in the Professional Liability domain, you will oversee and resolve intricate claims within the Professional Liability sector, encompassing Errors & Omissions (E&O), Directors & Officers (D&O), and various specialized lines. Your proficiency in handling professional lines claims will be essential in assessing coverage, liability, and damages, while ensuring that all claims are managed efficiently and accurately.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Hybrid work model
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of high-stakes professional liability claims, including E&O, D&O, and related lines.
- Analyze and interpret insurance policies to ascertain coverage, liability, and damages.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations, which include collecting evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and reviewing pertinent documentation.
- Facilitate negotiations for settlements with claimants, legal representatives, and other involved parties, ensuring just and equitable outcomes.
- Work in conjunction with legal advisors to oversee litigated claims, including preparation for mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
Qualifications
- Background in Professional Lines is essential.
- Experience managing claims across the United States.
- Ability to handle claims valued up to $500,000.
- 5-7 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a minimum of 3 years in litigation.
- A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school may be considered as a complement to claims handling experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
