Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to lead our Medically Assisted Treatment programs at our outpatient clinic in Sioux Falls, SD. As a key member of our team, you will provide patient care, medical evaluation, and establish dosing levels, while interacting with regulatory bodies and managing subordinate physician extenders.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Plan and supervise provision of treatment for patients, including regular review and notes in the patient's record, according to established CSAT and state guidelines.
  • Sign patient record notes and oversee patient care provided by physician extenders, signing charts and dosing levels when applicable.
  • Admit patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment and oversee any patient site emergencies.
  • Conduct patient history and physical exams, meeting Federal and state guidelines, and refer patients for care elsewhere when indicated.
Medical Director Responsibilities
  • Initiate, alter, and terminate replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols meeting Federal and state guidelines.
  • Supervise the administration and dispensing of medications and confer with patients' private physicians as needed.
  • Examine staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries and serve as a clinic in-service resource.
  • Provide patient education specific to various disease processes within our scope of practice and oversee the continuum of care process for patients.
  • Maintain strict patient, employee, company, and computer confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Addiction Medicine or Family Practice.
  • Current SD license and ability to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Addiction Medicine and satisfactory drug screen and background check.
