Job Summary

BAART Programs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Medically Assisted Treatment programs. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing patient care, medical evaluation, and establishing dosing levels. You will also interact with regulatory bodies, train and manage subordinate physician extenders, and provide MAT services directly to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Plan and supervise provision of treatment for patients according to established guidelines with a strong emphasis on quality and customer service.
    • Sign patient record notes and oversee patient care provided by physician extenders.
    • Admit patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment and oversee patient site emergencies.
    • Conduct history and physical exams, and refer patients for care elsewhere when indicated.
  • Medical Director:
    • Initiate, alter, and terminate replacement narcotic therapy medications following strict protocols.
    • Supervise the administration and dispensing of medications and confer with patient's private physician as needed.
    • Examine staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries and serve as a clinic in-service resource.
    • Provide patient education specific to various disease processes and oversee the continuum of care process for patients.
    • Maintain strict patient, employee, company, and computer confidentiality.
    Requirements
    • Board Certified or Eligible in Addiction Medicine or Family Practice.
    • Current SD license and ability to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine.
    • At least 1 year of experience in Addiction Medicine and satisfactory drug screen and background check.
