At QuickMD, we approach addiction as a chronic condition. Our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based, and holistic care for substance use disorders and mental health issues to all residents. We advocate for those at risk by offering addiction treatment services, personalized counseling, and support.
We ensure accessible and affordable care through both telehealth and in-person consultations. Our multidisciplinary team consists of healthcare professionals, patient navigators, social workers, addiction specialists, and administrative personnel. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact.
Role Responsibilities
The Medical Collaborator will oversee licensure supervision for QuickMD's Physician Assistants (PAs) in accordance with the established Physician Assistant Practice Agreement and relevant state regulations. This position requires close collaboration with the Clinical Practice Director and PAs to ensure adherence to licensure standards.
Philosophy of Care
- Adopt a harm-reduction and patient-first approach, focusing on the compassionate treatment of substance use disorders.
- Supervise with a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
Supervision Duties
- Provide licensure supervision through direct contact and telecommunication with PAs as mandated by state law.
- Conduct regular chart reviews in partnership with the Clinical Practice Director.
Collaboration and Communication
- Engage in cooperative care initiatives with internal teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain clear communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and clinical discussions.
Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all supervisory activities in line with clinic and regulatory standards.
- Follow ethical and legal guidelines in the provision of supervision.
Professional Expectations
- Maintain all necessary professional licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education (CME) requirements.
- Stay informed about advancements in addiction medicine and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a physician.
- Comprehensive knowledge of common medications, their side effects, and contraindications.
- Thorough understanding of medical best practices.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Compassionate and approachable demeanor.
- Responsible and trustworthy character.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a valid license in the relevant specialty.
- DEA and/or applicable controlled substance licenses (preferred but not mandatory).
