JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the selected candidate will oversee the preparation of child support cases for Family Court. This role includes courtroom activities under the guidance of DSS attorneys, follow-up on cases including parent location and interstate case processing, and providing essential child support services to clients as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

  1. COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE (30%): Facilitate communication with various units within the Office of Integrated Child Support Services and the Department of Social Services. Input support order data and financial information into the IVD system to ensure accurate distribution of collections.
  2. MAINTAINS & EVALUATES (25%): Maintain comprehensive case records and narrative documentation, both written and electronic, in accordance with agency policy. Manage an assigned caseload and identify issues within the child support system, contributing to solutions.
  3. SERVICES & SUPPORT (25%): Refer eligible non-custodial parents to the SNAP Employment and Training program. Provide clear explanations of child support services to clients and the community, ensuring compliance with agency policies.
  4. PREPARES CASES & INTERVIEWS (20%): Conduct interviews with custodial parents regarding paternity and interstate support cases. Ensure the proper handling of personal identifying information (PII) and safeguard agency systems and data.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; a bachelor's degree may substitute for relevant experience.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience: 1+ years in a related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Possess a fundamental understanding of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in various situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not include supervisory duties.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: No fiscal responsibilities for departmental budgets.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The role may require prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking, as well as effective communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The position involves standard working conditions with no expected overnight travel.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard hours: 37.5 per week.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary: $32,000 - $36,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:

This position is classified under normal operations, with responsibilities to adhere to emergency directives as necessary.

MILITARY AND VETERAN:
