Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Unit Supervisor to join our Child Support Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operational activities of our Case Review Specialists, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of child support cases, and driving quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the work of Clerical Associate III staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Prepare and distribute work schedules and assignments, utilizing reports generated by OCSE Web and OCSE Portal.
  • Conduct quality reviews of employee work and output, ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural guidelines.
  • Maintain and update status and statistical reports of unit's case review activities and output, providing insights for productivity improvement.
  • Train new and current staff on necessary duties, including database resource navigation and child support systems.
  • Conduct regular meetings with subordinate staff, addressing job performance and disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Assist the Director in reviewing and updating relevant unit desk aids, ensuring adherence to agency policy and procedures.
  • Monitor and track the flow and distribution of incoming correspondence, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors on special projects and develop reports to drive business outcomes.

Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year in an administrative capacity or supervising staff.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using various child support systems and databases, including ASSETS, OCSE Web, and OCSE Portal.
