Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Structural Steel division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the structural steel scope of work from contract award to closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and understand the full scope of work, ensuring compliance with scope of work and budget constraints.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating detailing, fabrication, and delivery schedules.
  • Attend on-site or virtual project meetings, as required.
  • Manage the submittal process, including advance bill of materials, RFIs, shop drawings, samples, technical data, etc.
  • Engage the project detailer, prioritizing delivery requirements and ensuring shop drawings meet project specifications, estimate, and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with construction managers and other trades.
  • Obtain field measurements, ensuring accuracy before fabrication is scheduled.
  • Coordinate with the subcontracted erector for the installation of finished/fabricated product, ensuring on-site work meets expectations.
  • Manage all subcontractors, reviewing and processing invoices.
  • Ensure actual costs remain within budget throughout the project's life.
  • Accurately track and submit additional costs resulting from project changes, issuing a change order request to the construction manager and tracking the status of each request.
  • Issue required close-out documents to the construction manager upon project completion.
Requirements
  • Experience in the structural steel industry (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred).
  • Able to read Architectural and Structural Construction drawings.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to complete difficult assignments.
  • Ability to develop and improve upon product knowledge.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • TeklaEPM (Fabsuite) experience preferred.
