United Steel Inc. is seeking skilled professionals to contribute to our reputation as a leading fabricator and erector of structural steel and miscellaneous metals in New England.

We are in search of Welders with 2-3 years of relevant experience to enhance our talented workforce. As a Welder at United Steel Inc., your primary responsibility will be to safely and effectively weld metal components utilizing electric arc-welding equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of welding tasks to meet production demands.
  • Identify and communicate any potential issues to management.
  • Initiate power supply, create an arc, and maneuver the electrode along the designated weld line.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize filler rod, prepare damaged components for welding, and uphold a tidy work environment.
  • Successfully complete a 2G unlimited weld test.
  • Receive guidance and support with weld setups and transitions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or completion of a Vocational Program.
  • 2-3 years of welding experience or relevant technical education is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding is advantageous.
  • Basic mathematical skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
