About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our advanced care team, you will provide exceptional patient care in a surgical setting, working closely with our faculty supervising physicians to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex patient assessments and physical examinations, providing appropriate treatment and care.
  • Coordinate and implement patient care plans, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician, utilizing advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems.
  • Order and conduct pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies, interpreting results and making medical recommendations as needed.
  • Formulate and implement outcome-based treatment plans, maintaining accurate records and chart documentation.
Requirements
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and APRN - NP.
  • Current RN First Assist Certification and specialty certification as required by department.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty certification as required by department.
  • Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
