Key Responsibilities

The Head of Business Growth will be tasked with establishing and nurturing new business relationships within Ascent's specialized Mobility Vertical. This role focuses on forging strategic partnerships with key clients in the Mobility sector to bolster Ascent's standing in time-sensitive and premium logistics solutions.

Business Development Initiatives:
  • Develop and sustain relationships with logistics contracts through consistent, in-person professional interactions and travel, fostering multiple connections within the client organization.
  • Engage and cultivate relationships with mid-tier and top-tier clients to discern their needs and pinpoint opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business contracts with a target value exceeding $25 million.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the mobility sector or comparable fast-paced industries.
  • Recognize and generate opportunities for Ascent's time-sensitive and premium transportation solutions.
  • Present compelling solutions to prospective clients that deliver sustainable value.
  • Establish strategic relationships with key personnel at various levels within the client organization.
  • Provide regular market insights and intelligence to clients.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering support for all transportation and supply chain-related inquiries.
  • Travel Requirement: 25-50%.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution; or 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise and a proven track record in Ascent's Mobility market.
  • Language Proficiency - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to compute figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Proficient in applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be adept in utilizing Ascent's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
