Position Summary:
UNC Therapy Services, the outpatient orthopedic therapy division within the Rehabilitation Services Department, is currently seeking applications for the role of Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialist.

This position is centered at the Ambulatory Care Center and is dedicated to providing extensive rehabilitation services to a variety of patient demographics, addressing orthopedic and sports-related injuries, postoperative recovery, and geriatric care.

As a member of a collaborative team consisting of six physical therapists and two orthopedic residents, you will thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting.

Your responsibilities will include working closely with a broad team of outpatient therapy providers, including allied health professionals, nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based rehabilitative services, including patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and necessary administrative duties.
  2. Diagnostic Testing: Perform both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations, focusing on mobility disorders and related impairments.
  3. Education: Mentor and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents, contributing to innovative patient care programs.
  4. Evaluation of Care: Analyze diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to set and adjust patient goals and treatment plans.
  5. Implementation: Utilize current and advanced treatment methodologies to provide high-quality rehabilitative services, prioritizing patient needs.
  6. Outreach and Community Engagement: Act as a resource for state health professionals, present at conferences, and participate in community health initiatives.
  7. Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and progress, engaging in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
  • No prior experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Manual Therapy.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat a diverse patient population.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to pursue professional development opportunities.
