Position Overview:
UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is seeking applications for a full-time Acute Care Physical Therapist I role. This position supports our Enhanced Rehabilitation program within the acute hospital environment, where the Physical Therapist I will deliver comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions to a diverse patient demographic with varying levels of acuity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Assessment: Conduct both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations in Physical Therapy to address mobility disorders and related impairments.
2. Education: Mentor and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents. Contribute to innovative programs aimed at enhancing patient care and serve as a resource for other clinicians in specialized areas.
3. Care Evaluation: Analyze diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to establish patient goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Communicate essential information to ensure continuity of care.
4. Implementation: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to deliver quality rehabilitative services. Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
5. Community Engagement: Act as a resource for state health professionals and government departments in specialty areas. Participate in community health screenings and events.
6. Participation: Contribute to the quality of clinical services through active participation in departmental meetings and in-services.
7. Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Engage in quality improvement initiatives alongside clinical specialists and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification.
  • No prior experience required.

Work Details:
This position is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week, with a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, including occasional weekend and holiday coverage. The salary range is competitive, reflecting experience and internal equity.
