At HELP USA, we are seeking a Recreation Aide to work with adults living in one of our temporary housing facilities. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and provide them with essential support services.

About the Role

This position is an integral part of our mission to ensure everyone has a place to call home. As a Recreation Aide, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a recreational program that meets the needs of all age groups, fostering positive socialization, empowerment, and physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.

You will work closely with residents to identify their interests and develop activities that promote full participation and engagement. This may include arts and crafts, sports, games, or other leisure activities. Your goal is to create a safe and healthy environment where residents can thrive and build meaningful relationships with each other.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a recreational program that meets the needs of all age groups.
  • Ensure appropriate recreational services are available for residents with special needs.
  • Encourage full participation of all residents to enhance socialization and utilization of recreational services.
  • Engage in community outreach to secure service linkages, donations, and resources for residents and the program.
  • Develop a resource guide of free and inexpensive recreational resources in the area.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for participants in recreational activities.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring.
