CAMBA is a leading social services organization dedicated to helping vulnerable populations in New York City. We are currently seeking a Recreation Activities Coordinator to join our team at the Atlantic House Men's Shelter in Brooklyn.

Job Summary

The Recreation Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic and recreational activities for clients at the shelter. This includes organizing physical education programs, arts and crafts projects, and other activities designed to enhance social development and overall well-being.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, such as art therapy or counseling, and experience working with individuals with mental health issues. A background in art therapy is preferred but not required. Bi-lingual skills are also an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead therapeutic and recreational activities for clients
  • Develop and implement physical education programs
  • Organize arts and crafts projects and other creative activities
  • Design and produce visual displays for public spaces
  • Maintain and post activity calendars
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., art therapy, counseling)
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues
  • Background in art therapy preferred
  • Bi-lingual skills an asset
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $53,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. CAMBA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
