About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Aide to join our team at Magnolia House Women's Shelter. As a key member of our recreation team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging recreational activities that promote social development, physical well-being, and mental health. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and inclusive space for our clients to build connections, learn new skills, and grow as individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational program content that aligns with our shelter's goals and objectives.
  • Organize and lead activities that foster social interaction, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, ensuring confidentiality and respect.
  • Teach physical education, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, sports, ADL or other recreational activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate social and peer support events that promote connection and community building.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and produce aesthetic visuals for public spaces, reflecting cultural, seasonal, and programmatic themes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Track equipment and supplies used, ensuring proper utilization and maintenance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
About Compensation

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $16. When considering compensation, various factors are taken into account, including experience, education, location, and internal equity.
