About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, and conduct medical history interviews. You will also be responsible for reviewing laboratory test results, evaluating donor reactions, and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent
  • Conduct medical history interviews and review laboratory test results
  • Evaluate donor reactions and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
