Note: This position is contingent upon award.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Mid-Level Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will oversee and facilitate the security aspects of the NAVINTEL ICD 503 Risk Management Framework (RMF) Implementation Policies and the Department of Navy Cyber Security Policies.
  • The ISSO will conduct automated security assessments utilizing tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmark, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP). The ISSO will analyze the results and document findings to ensure successful completion of security certification testing.
  • The ISSO will serve as the primary contact for cybersecurity matters related to assigned systems, reviewing audit logs and ensuring compliance with security policies, while providing weekly reports to Vulnerability Remediation Asset Management (VRAM).
  • The ISSO will perform research and testing to ensure that products and services align with the security requirements set forth by various intelligence and defense agencies.
  • The ISSO will document security requirements analysis, evaluations, and risk assessments, which may be classified upon completion.
  • The ISSO will develop and execute plans for system authorization and collaborate with system owners to gather necessary evidence for the RMF process.
  • The ISSO will prepare security documentation to support project tasks and ensure successful completion of security testing.
  • The ISSO will coordinate with relevant offices to refine certification testing and documentation requirements.
  • The ISSO will manage the accreditation processes for various systems, ensuring that documentation is updated and maintained according to the RMF process.
  • The ISSO will monitor all security activities in accordance with the ICD 503 (RMF) process, including security testing and reporting.
  • The ISSO will liaise with external organizations to complete necessary product certifications.
  • The ISSO will develop and maintain certification test plans and processes.
  • The ISSO will provide input during project planning and execution activities.
  • The ISSO will conduct preliminary security scans of new products and report findings.
  • The ISSO will stay updated on system configuration and testing guidelines, adapting practices as necessary.
  • The ISSO will prepare technical reports to document progress and key decisions.
  • The ISSO will collaborate with the Government to produce system certification documents compliant with ICD 503 requirements.
  • The ISSO will ensure that all scheduled milestones are met and communicate any potential impacts to the project team.
  • The ISSO will provide regular activity and financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • The ISSO will participate in meetings and briefings related to project and information assurance policy implementation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • IAM Level II Certification.
