Key Responsibilities
  • The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will oversee and facilitate the security aspects of the NAVINTEL ICD 503 Risk Management Framework (RMF) Implementation Policies and the Department of Navy Cyber Security Policies.
  • Conduct automated security assessments utilizing tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmark, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP). Analyze results and document findings for necessary security certification testing.
  • Act as the primary contact for cybersecurity matters related to assigned systems, ensuring compliance with security policies and maintaining regular reporting of findings.
  • Engage in research and evaluation to ensure that existing and emerging products meet the security requirements set forth by various national intelligence and defense authorities.
  • Document the outcomes of security assessments, risk evaluations, and compliance activities, which may be classified based on the information included.
  • Develop and implement plans for system authorization, collaborating with system owners and engineering teams to compile the necessary evidence for the RMF process.
  • Prepare security documentation to support project tasks and ensure successful completion of security testing and evaluations.
  • Coordinate with relevant offices to refine certification testing and documentation requirements impacting products and services.
  • Manage systems accreditation processes and maintain up-to-date documentation, tracking any necessary actions and milestones.
  • Monitor all security activities in accordance with the ICD 503 RMF process, including security testing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to complete product certification tests and site certifications.
  • Maintain and update security plans and processes specific to the Certification Test Division.
  • Provide input during project planning and execution, ensuring adherence to established schedules.
  • Conduct preliminary security assessments of new products and report findings.
  • Stay informed on system configuration and testing guidelines, updating practices as necessary.
  • Prepare technical reports to document progress and key decisions made throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with government representatives to produce necessary system certification and accreditation documents.
  • Ensure all security documentation complies with established requirements and guidelines.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and financial reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide training and briefings to various audience levels.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity.
  • Possession of IAM Level II Certification.
