Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of security configurations and protocols for each Information System (IS).
  • Act as a liaison between system owners and other security personnel.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of selected security controls throughout all phases of the IS lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update system security documentation continuously.
  • Conduct necessary IS vulnerability assessments based on risk evaluation criteria.
  • Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Manage risks associated with ISs and other assets by coordinating corrective or mitigating actions, and ensure timely completion of POAMs.
  • Coordinate with system owners for approval of corrective or mitigating actions.
  • Monitor security controls for FBI ISs to uphold security Authorizations to Operate (ATO).
  • Upload all evidence of security controls to the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) application to support the monitoring phase.
  • Report any changes to an FBI IS, its environment, or operational needs that may impact authorization status to the system owner and IS Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Facilitate the decommissioning of ISs in collaboration with the system owner, ISSM, and ISSR.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ATO processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in a secure facility.
  • Background in computer science or a related Cybersecurity field.
  • Possess at least one of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Global Information Security Professional (GISP), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or other relevant certifications that demonstrate the required skill sets.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Tenable Nessus, IBM Guardium, HP WebInspect, Network Mapper (NMAP), and similar applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Position may require CI Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent operation of computers and other office machinery.
  • Ability to position oneself to maintain computers in various locations.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and management, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging information accurately.

The projected compensation range for this position is $109,100-$181,100. Various factors can influence the final salary, including relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
